Bob, I stumbled upon a solution for those vicious chihuahuas that have been tormenting you and your dogs. A guy posted the following note on a chicken forum... "Howdy! I have six hens that are about a year and. half old, purchased as day old hatchlings. I also have a very docile 11 year old chihuahua. The hens were raised around the dog without issue, until recently. One of my Rhode Island Reds has started to attack my dog, quite viciously. They free range and the dog goes out to use the bathroom a few times a day. I can no longer leave her out there alone, without fear that this bird will injure her. The dog does nothing to instigate these attacks and is smaller than the hens..."So, your problem could be simply solved with just a half dozen attack hens. Wait a minute, my bad. I forgot...those are your chihuahuas. Sorry 'bout that...carry on.

Luckily, my wife doesn't read here or she would be wanting chickens too - she already wants goats! Just what I need...
Probably going to be moving in the not too distant future. I'm out of room for rocks and want a little acreage where I can build a rock shop. She Who Must Be Obeyed wants land for goats, chickens and a garden. I see all that crap falling right in my lap as soon as she gets bored with it all. NOT good, and possibly enough to keep me from moving. Might be easier (for me) to buy the house next door and turn it into my shop, but the additional taxes and insurance on a 2nd house make make moving the better financial choice. I'll think about that tomorrow...
Good news about the neighbor's freakin' yappy rat b@$t*rd dogs is that they are inside more often than out with this warm weather. Not sure I understand that is these things hardly have any hair and aren't they from a warm climate area anyway? Seems that they shouldn't mind the heat.
