Whether it's the cab contest or the tumbling contest or both, I'd encourage anyone to enter their work and let everyone see the results of all the knowledge shared here on the forum. It's fun, free and gives you a goal to work toward every month. It's like one of those home makeover shows around here the last day before deadline, sweating bullets sometimes wondering if I'll get something finished. I digress, the point is, do it! Sometimes it even pays dividends. I've been the recipient of two great prize boxes, both having nicer materials than anything I had. The last contest, I lost. The deal was that Tommy would donate his prize offering to the second place (loser) contestant if he won. As expected, he won and followed through on sending me his generous prize. I was feeling a little dirty about taking a prize without winning, until I got that box, that is. Long winded story just to have an excuse to make you all jealous, huh? Enjoy anyway...
Good Lord!
I can not wait to finish these out!!!
THEN, to top it off, there was an additional gift for the missus. A beautiful wrapped pendant for 'putting up with me my new hobby'. HA! All that and a sense of humor too. Can't thank you enough Tommy!
And enter those contests!

wait wait wait - there's been a misunderstanding... I meant to send that box back to myself - I guess your box got lost somewhere. I'll be needing that back please. j/k - enjoy Just for the record Randy is a good guy - and I may or may not have been motivated to punch the prize up a notch or two. A couple of months ago I requested a favor from him and he went above and beyond to personally provide some local Kentucky hospitality for a couple of my family members ... and did it with a smile I might add. Glad she likes the pendant - I don't do gold very often but I had a little bit on hand and the colors of that Kentucky agate were just begging for it. AND ... like the man says, join the damn contests!

Very nice touch Tommy! I've had similar dealings with Randy Garage Rocker and he has always gone above and beyond! As for you, Randy......Make sure to practice Tommy's fine gesture, from time to time. That way all of us runner-ups will have something to look forward to! BTW....are you going to finish those cabs in the lot-o?

Great pieces! I like the way the black background makes the rocks stand out.

Anyway, I get the chance to pass on some of the joy.
And I do plan on giving the Lot O some work with those cabs. I'd love to have wheels to work on, but not yet...

Everyone of those rocks is wonderful! And the pendent is gorgeous! The gold really does complement it. Too bad gold is so expensive as it looks better than silver with many stones and is non-allergenic and non-tarnishing too.
