Wow James that's a grest fish!!! Nothing more ferocious than a red belly bream. There is an acre of exposed rock under the lake there. Red bellies and copperhead bream bed there. Little rascals tear your plastic worms up. The copperheads are all titty bream, meaning you have to hold them against your chest to get the hook out of their mouth. Too big to get your hands around them. Takes about 5 minutes to catch a meal feeding 4 there. Anytime, all year. You can set 1o blue crab traps there too. Have breeder size crabs for dinner every other night. Many of those residents in that neighborhood never buy meat. |

OK, you should know this because I do. What is the colors of the rainbow... The acronym. I'm sure there is more than one. Lacking in education spice, had to look it up. Had me curious. Ask scientists what light is. They have ways of measuring it's properties but have no idea what it is. Humans are a long way from figuring out what makes this earth tick. How did google do ?  |

Note buzzards holding heads high in dead oak tree at upper right. Faces toward storm. Storm has them on alert. Guessing their high roosts have been zapped by lightning on numerous occasions. Nailing Uncle Buford. Note Ibis feeding frantically at lower left before the storm hits. And James making a beeline to the shore to hop on ATV back to cabin. Within 2 minutes. Others in a hurry too, mostly birds.  Aforementioned Ibis are cranky and grunting at my presence. Roosting and resting after the storm. Wanted me and camera to go elsewhere. note some are dark, segregation no issue. Told them they were all ugly and grumpy.  Note shaded and open water under dock. 3-4 foot gar were stacked up there waiting to ambush shade seeking fish. Too shy to get a photo.  Looks like some inter-racial breeding has been going down. This bird congregates in large rookeries. Nesting time draws gators waiting for anyone to fall out of the nest. Gators love swamp chicken.  |

Thanks for the pics and narrative, jamesp. Looks like you had a great time down there. Roy G. Biv is taught in second grade to help the kids remember the color order. That trivial info sticks with some of us. I wouldn't expect you to give that answer though, you still are an engineer at heart. Most I know can't give the simple answer. They have to take apart the question and look at it first. Good to have you back. |

A staple for the Natives back in their day. Once devoured, you may have a rumbly in your tumbly, and seeking antacids for those greasy morsels. |

I will ask a fellow engineer and see if he knows the riddle. Do know the color order, probably would come up with an R or X rated phrase unacceptable to child's ear. Tough camera had a bad day on day 14. Amazon replacing free of charge. Taking photos from boat with image stab: Not good. Best to turn it off. Image stab can not deal with rolling wave action. Got some image stab Canon binoculars and they have fits on a boat. 10X and on land make image dead stable on solid land when hand held. Olympus camera  |

spiceman I've always remembered the colors as Roy G. Biv: red, orange, yellow , green, blue, indigo, violet.

Interesting how the spectrum mnemonic depends on where and when you went to school. Back in my day it was taught as VIBGYOR, just the opposite of what's taught currently. That's because many American texts used to show the blue (400 nm) colors on the left with the reds (700 nm) on the right, the opposite of European scales which have red on the left. In most cases we've now adopted the European approach.

Did I miss the explanation of what happened to the camera? Looks like you ran it over with the ATV. How did you convince amazon that it was their fault?
