Got a hotel room on the way down to camp. Had to sample the coral on this bar, water was low. Suwannee River and I-75. River bank was 40 feet and super steep. We were worn out getting kayaks down and back up. Coral was somewhat monotone. Just got a tumbler's worth. 1 out of 100 were exceptional, low quality rate. River can flow 40 to 15,000 gallons per second. This day was 90 cfs, so coral rich bar well exposed. lots of coral, about every rock seen here. Lots of chips and flakes, found not one artifact. Probably picked over, this spot popular and easy to access. Rock hunters have hit this spot hard. Swift Creek converging into Suwannee. When water is 5 feet higher this creek will kill you. White water in Florida Acidimified water has dissolved a canyon thru old limestone formed by a much older long lived ocean. Coral much newer, attached itself to the top of this bedrock Had me a partner Looking up from under ledge. Disorient ing More www.flickr.com/photos/67205364@N06/sets/72157672824926896
