Some simple wraps from the Specular Hematite I received from Rob. The bails still need some adjusting, but otherwise they should be ready to go. Nothing fancy here, as I did not want to distract from the beauty of the stones. More functional that decorative. Some of the material broke apart easily with a small chisel and hammer. Other was too hard. Could easily shape the material with a metal file. I used a spray jewelry sealant on the stones. It darkened them some, but the sparkle remains. Looking forward to working more with this material. It exceeded my expectations.

Ever wear one of those?
Seems like the rough stone would hurt.

Yes, have been wearing the first one I made (not pictured) next to my skin for a couple weeks. The clear coat makes the surface smooth to the skin. Had to try that before making more. But thanks for the question.

If you toss 'em in a tumbler, the jagged edges round out fairly quickly.

Sold those and then some. Took the warning of shotgunner and had everyone who purchased put one on before purchasing. Had some people who looked first and moved on. When they came back to purchase, all were gone. Have 12 custom orders I am working on. Yes, the filing and clear coat does wonders. A lot of people here prefer the rough, natural look over a tumbled appearance.
