Today, we will be exploring a piece of botryoidal chalcedony from southern Kentucky. There seems to be a luster or a schiller effect(adularescence) when looking at the right side of the piece in the following two photos. As well as the schiller effect, we can see quartz morphing(however you want to call it) into the chalcedony from bottom right to bottom center. Correct me if you wish. Now we can look what's underneath the skin. Was the chalcedony formed quickly? I'd say so. Quartz/chalcedony enthusiasts, praise the Lord. Thanks for viewing.

Was that a weekend find? It was beautiful out there, just never found time to get out.

Looks like it's from a 1958 monster movie: The Blob.

I thought more along the lines of apple butter on toast.

This is one of my first few finds as a rock hound. Had it for a couple years.
Fossilman--this piece is thin but not too thin(sort of brittle), but I'd say this piece is best left alone--let me message ya, I have a few rocks that you'd love to cut up.
