I h Ave come across a highland park model U slab say with a highland park 10" saw cabber polisher combo with accessories and old collection of material, both seem to be 60 ' s or 70's models, the model U is a professional 24" I'm sure, everything for less then 900$ would this be a good buy? Jump on it now !! Those kind of deals don't come along often.
Even if you have to replace bearings or do other upkeep work on those machines, Highland Park was the best equipment ever built.

The owners told me it was hardly used and hasn't been turned on in over a year but I am welcome to make cuts if I want, purchased new by gran-pa.

I guess I should unload my trailer an head out yonder to pick it up? I'm on borrowed time right now, told them I would be there by 2-3? If I buy this collection my wife is going to want new linoleum in the kitchen, a new vanity in the bath room , an possibly the down stairs bathroom finished , so the price evens out in the end I guess!!

LOL. Every time I make a major purchase, my wife ends up with a new & super expensive computerized sewing machine.
Now go get that load.

Great deal. Anytime you are looking at used saws of that size the condition of the blade alone can be a $500-600 factor to the good or to the bad.

too late, I just bought it............ You wish fish! Lol, brought them home with six 5 gal buckets of material lots and lots of slablets , what the heck why didn't anyone tell me how big that thing was! Good grief, I showed up in my wife's muv (mothers utility vehicle) an my 1940's bucket trailer, the saw took up 90% of the bed, took off the wooden side panel and straddled the other machine half over the side just as long as my trailer, stuffed the buckets where they could fit, about 40 miles one way , On a two lane highway, driving back 45-50mph, with my 15 year old my 21 year old happen to come by from alamosa state, his girlfriend an the three girls in back ages 2-5-7, long ride home!! But now there home safe with me both seem to be in excellent condition, Older then I thought, stored indoors , the guy told me today was the first day they where turned on since 1978, almost when I was born!! Anyway they both ran smooth as could be, thanks everyone for the input,

Ok looked at the info on the machines, the small one is an HP model B-12 10"saw combo with 3 wheels and a buffer on the end mounted on the original HP cabinet which houses two motor's, should clean up to original finish,
The other is HP model U 24" on a HP stand with heavy duty casters, should clean up like new, excellent original condition blade case drive stitches everything inside looks immaculate,
Both saws stored inside their entire life! Both saws have made by highland park in so. Pasadena Ca. U.S.A, ran power to them switched them on and both quite as could be no vibration everything ran smooth as could be, "Sorry for the lack of pictures"

My apologies for not posting any pictures yet,Hopefully soon, an update on the HP B-12 has four cabbing wheels and the polisher on the end cleaning up well, Thinking about making my first cuts on the model U?? I haven't done a thing to it just went over it and besides the belts being a little dry it looks ready to eat rocks!!Any reason not to??
