Thanx Radio! I shoulda thunk of that....duh! LOL LOL! My brain cells have also gradually went from wearing running shoes to flip flops, AKA, Senior moments There are others who sell chalk, but Colbaugh seems to have the best prices. You can use the old Indian trick of submerging the pale turquoise in the blue liquid they use in the porta potties. Makes it as dead ringer for Sleeping Beauty!

Cheap, did I mention very inexspensive??? LOL I have a small amount of turquoise rubble from Mina, NV you can have for free if you pay $3.25 for shipping. There's not a ton, and some of it is matrix material, but you can take a look and let me know if you want it. I'll upload a picture of it tonight.

Hey that's great! I will take that deal and add to your price to be $5 to cover your gas to the PO. I am going to grind it with either a mortor and pedestal or else use the lovely Susans coffe grinder???

I've got plenty. natural sand sized, natural small chips, and then some man made sky blue powder OR chips. I sent you a PM. Oh... stay away from the tidy-bowl stuff, very frowned upon in the turquoise world.] The natural stuff is expensive.... real USA turquoise is getting to rare to crush up..... $9 for 1/ ounce... but nice stuff! The man made stuff I got from a furniture supply house, Will let it go for $20 per pound, powder OR chips. Send email addy for pics.

Now that's great info!!! I knew about and have used the soaking in horse urine to enhance the color! Ummm, is this a treatment that is disclosed??? I don't think it would bother me (providing there was no lasting smell) but some people might be picky. I guess you know there is a pharmaceutical, a female hormone, that is made from horse urine. Premarin (from pregnant mare's urine). Opps, didn't see the post above by vegasjames....

Well known for causing weight gain from thyroid suppression and fat cell enlargement. Took the drug companies 30 years to finally admit that it also can cause cancer even though that fact was being discussed in the holistic community for decades.

I highly doubt anyone would expect, much less pay for jewelry grade Turquoise in a piece of wood

Why not just buy the powder from ceramic glaze suppliers? You simply must have them near you, or at least online.

I highly doubt anyone would expect, much less pay for jewelry grade Turquoise in a piece of wood Just joking about the horse urine thing. In the case of jewelry one would say that the color was enhanced as is the color of much turquoise, then give price differences. But there would be no reason to say exactly how it was enhanced and most people are not going to ask. I don't think anyone has to give out exact techniques, just if something was enhanced, stabilized, etc. and whether it needs any extra care (keeping out of the sun, avoiding solvents) as a result. I get this problem on political forums too, when many people can't tell when I am joking. I guess I have to use even *more* smiley face things although they kind of bug me. P.S.: If someone did ask for more info you could say it was enhanced with a totally natural substance, but you can't disclose it as it is a trade secret.

Actually fill a crack the length of a Tomahawk handle. Said handle to be made from native Muskedine grapes vine wild from the swamp. It has a awesome red, white, black and crystal Flint Ridge Nethers Farm hawk knapped by me. Vine retains a tight solid bark but the crack opened all the way down the handle while kiln drying in my microwave. Handle is still totally sound. It will be wrapped in and around the hawk with white buckskin from a whitetail deer. The actually hand piece area will be laced with tan rawhide from a cow with feather and wooden bead fetishes. The handle will have a wrist cord made from dog bane fibers I hand twist into unbreakable native cordage. The turquoise is believed to protect the user so some fake turquoise is ok but it must be mixed with real turquoise to fill the crack. The endcap of the handle will have a turquoise nugget.
