I dug out the slab I have and took a pic. Hard to capture the chatoyancy this piece has! The Gold bands below the Maroon are quite striking and have an almost Opal like appearance to them

Well, in the auction I bought a slab of Hawkeyes about 12"long 2" thk3" wide for only 5$. One of my dads friends just sent me some tiger iron and tiger eye. Don't know where it's from but I need to look. Never cut tiger eye or any other eye as far as that goes so when it comes time I might ask for HELP. Could be out of my league.

I did some research.
I found where the deposit is.
It is all on private property.
And apparently it will be a cold day in hell when we dig there.

Wow that orange is pretty. I used to have some small pieces very similar but only in pale green. Too many loose fibers for good cabbing but it did have good flash and was interesting for specimens. Suspect it simply did not have enough silica in it..Mel

Im told by good authority quality is keye here. Crap messes up the oil in the saw real quick.
