I purchased this material as Wingate Pass rough several years ago. I have been told by different people over the years that it is Stoney Creek Jasper, Stone Canyon Jasper and Wingate Pass. Maybe I will be able to finally get some expert Opinions. Thanks Harold

Here's some good wingate for comparison- this little piece just auctioned off for 50 bucks. A steal.

Thanks rockjunquie the comparison picture really helps as I don't trust my google searches to actually be showing pictures of what I am searching for.

Damn... I finally knew one and Scott beat me to it Absolutely from the Stoney creek area without question ... possibly from Burris Creek. We collect material exactly like this right in the area where Burris creek meets Black Butte reservoir and the north fork of Stoney Creek. Earlier this summer I also found a couple of nice pieces of this just outside of Orland where Stoney Creek crosses Interstate 5.

I don't often answer Jasper/Agate queries, but this one was easy. Mel has taught us so much. I'm so grateful. Sabre52
