Spent some time this past weekend digging through our previous owners rock piles. The best we can tell is that the rocks were collected by one of the original owners in the 70's and have been sitting there since. Some looks self collected locally and some I can't identify as being local. There was a box of chalcedony pieces and roses, large chunks with chalcedony inside them. Some of this looks like it from the Turtle mountain area. I also came across a couple pieces of Needles blue agate. It looks really good, but the pieces I found are small cracks and seams that have filled in with the agate. I did find one piece that was big enough to break out and tumble, though it looks like it will take a long time. Stay tuned in

Long forgotten rock treasure! Wish I could buy a house that came with a rock pile.

For the last ten years we have just thrown them aside. It was only recently that we started looking at stuff. Really wished we knew a little more of their story.
Any Needles club members out there? Would love to know more about the original owners and their rock collection.

The jasper is Lavic we collected and there are a couple pieces from Hector road. I posted some of the mystery material awhile back. It looks semi translucent and is either a light pink or light blue grey and is very waxy looking where it was broken.

These are my mystery rocks found in backyard. Looks waxy, but takes a very good shine. There is some exactly like this, but light pink. Lot's of chalcedony chunks also.
