Howdy folks, Finally have some time to start cuttin Rio grande agate again. Saw is still crap and the power feed overheated after four slabs but at least it's something. Will sharpen again and see if I can cut a couple more this pm. Anyway, a couple of pics for your enjoyment....Mel Small slab of Rio grande orbicular agate. May have a bigger one to try today. Here's a rare Rio. Nice purple is super rare in these and this is a beauty. Purple part is tiny little orbs and eyes type stuff. really noce agate!

The purple may be rarer, but I really like that first slab!
Why is it orbicular in agate but poppy in jasper?

PS: First slab in my initial post above is jasper as it is opaque. Agate must be a least translucent ie Polka Dot Agate and some Ocean Jasper, much of which is actually agate. I misnamed the first slab as it came from a Rio Grande agate batch but there is a lot of jasper in that stuff too. So my long winded explanation actually is about jasper, not orbicular "agate". *L*. Do I give you guys headaches? My wife says I give them to her *L*...Mel
