HELP !!! I am trying to find a place to buy marble . I am looking for pieces about the size of a brick up to the size of a cinderblock . All the places I find either want to sell small rocks or they want to sell a 500lb block . Any help will be welcomed .

Your location would help a lot. If you were in AZ I could put you on a few thousand tons. It even glows under powerful SW.

I live in Binghamton New York . As far as the color of marble , it is more like I will know when I see it . I have bought marble from www.thecompleatsculptor.com but there colors are limited . I have also bought from ebay , but also color is limited and it hard to get good sized piece . I have checked some web sites , but most of them I find want to sell like huge 500 lb blocks . I was hoping someone here knew I web site where I could buy say a 25 - 35 lb block of marble .

I tossed about 100 lbs over the hill last year. Some were that size.
It is white. I will look and see if it is buried yet.

Marble of colors you might like isnt obvious in my rockpile.

I bet these people can help you -- the Vermont Marble Museum (vermont-marble.com) But you're going to need to know what you want -- grey, white, grey-with-white, green (Verde Antique -- but it's not really marble) Swanton Red, Radio Black, etc. Or try the Vermont Quarries corp. They have pictures of the different types of marble.

Have you tried monumental masons, that is the people that make tombstones and grave monuments.

The colors range from pure white to deep jade green. There are others. Some of these quarries have folks carving sculptures on site as well. Great adventure. You can choose the color, size and purity with a great selection. Also saves you shipping. Mike
