Guess my buddy did not want to get to close so the overly cropped photo. I think it's a rattler. It would have to be timber or canebrake-N Georgia. Original photo shows very viper style jaw. Not a color snake I am used to. Especially having viper head structure. I did not ask size, could be young copperhead.  |

Maybe it's an albino snake with it's eyes closed. Perfect camouflage for the dreaded Snow Snake!

Those are almost as common as garter snakes here. Didn't realize GA had them.

See the Texas version in the yard sometimes. I had at first thought they were a kind of Garter Snake I'd not seen before until I looked it up....Mel

Guess you didn't see the picture when it was a blank white space. Albino snake with eyes closed made the joke work. Try to keep up. Omg = valley girl. I've messed with and owned snakes since the mid 1960s. Snake hours don't impress me. |

My buddy's cell phone photo is closer in. Looking at it shows serious viper head. Like balls for jaw hinge joints. Snake tiny, like 10 inches. A baby. I think it is a baby copperhead. But seems to longish and thin. Thoughts ? Jaw line like this copperhead. Baby snakes hard to ID sometimes.  |

My buddy's cell phone photo is closer in. Looking at it shows serious viper head. Like balls for jaw hinge joints. Snake tiny, like 10 inches. A baby. I think it is a baby copperhead. But seems to longish and thin. Thoughts ? Jaw line like this copperhead. Baby snakes hard to ID sometimes. It is a brown snake. Eats invertebrates. 10" is adult! Not a copperhead, mokasin or rattlesnake. You have no other pit vipers and no vipers at all. Google "storeria" |
