Hey, all. Been awhile since I've posted, and I see I have a bunch of unanswered messages and updated threads I need to respond to BUT I just had to share this piece of chalcedony, agate I recently cut. I've only cut this one slab so far. I'm a little unsure if I should keep cutting or leave the rest of the specimen as is. To be determined as of now. Too excited on what I've found in this first slab to worry about it anyway! Native gold in chalcedony

Wowser! Awesome find! Never seen that before, though a feller at Quartzite told me there is gold in chalcedony in Lucky Strike eggs...Mel

The bottom half of that slab looks like something a gold rusher may have dreamed about - a mining cart overflowing with gold as it comes out of the mine.
It is mesmerizing!

Sure it's gold???
Where's it from?
If it really is gold, and you're going to cut more, save the rock dust to pan.

Yup. I'm sure lol. It's from a local creek in Snohomish County, Washington State. It's a well known gold, silver, copper producing area. Medium sized nuggets are still found every so often in the river that feeds this creek. I was careless when cutting that rock. Didn't know there was anything in it until after. I cut it. Not sure if I'll cut any more of of it, but I'll take better precautions not to lose any fines if I do!
