What's the pros and cons of drip systems vs fountain systems for grinding wheels? Gonna be upgrading to diamond wheels and wondering which way to go. Right now I'm leaning towards the drip system cause gravity don't break.
I do mostly jasper and agate. Rough grind the cabs and then tumble for the finishing.
Thoughts anyone?
Thanks

fountains run in a pool of water which means any contaminates like rock chips or loose diamond particles can be sprayed up onto the wheels. Drip systems are adjustable from a light mist to a get you wet flow. The drip systems may require some cleaning once in awhile to clear clogs. I use drip on everything because I prefer to grind with more water flowing then fountains provide.

I have fountain shooters that came with the Genie. stoner sings the praises of drip. Drips seem like they would be better to me, too, as stated above.

Drip, fast drip, up to gushing. However I have Genies that I teach on where I have installed aquarium air pumps with Kingsley North high volume water geysers simply because the original system just doesn't give me as much water as I would like. Bob

I built a recirculating drip - similar to what Bob described above except water is delivered to each wheel from the top, slow drip-to-gushing stream. Details available if anyone cares lol.
