I am looking for some tumbling rough. I am currently doing a rock tumbling project with my students and am looking for a little more variety than what I already have. Currently I have montanas, arizona pet wood, and various quartz and a couple of odds and ends from mixed bags. I am not looking for anything that is premier quality, just some stuff that has some color variation, interesting patterns, etc. All of the tumbled stones are going back to the students after the tumbles are complete for them to keep. If you got some stuff that may fit the bill, please post what you got and how much you want for it.
Thanks, Jake

Look for some good tiger eye. It's a pretty quick tumble and people new to lapidary always seem to like it.

Send me a PM with your address and I'll send you a box of San Jacinto River Gravels....pet wood, jasper, and some agate. Mostly small stuff that makes great tumbles.
If you want to pick up the shipping ($13.00), I can get about 30lb's in a mfrb.
And by the way......O-H!

As long as you know to move to the right lane when there is a line of cars tied up behind you, you're one of the (few) decent ones. The Ohio Navy, as they are called here, drive their boats down here to our Kentucky lakes every weekend and refuse to be courteous drivers. My only beef, really.

Maybe Kentucky should adopt the Texas law that makes it illegal to drive in the left lane unless you are passing someone. It's a fairly new law, but I know people that have been stopped for it. Keep Right
Watch for signs on Texas multi-lane highways that read "Left Lane For Passing Only." These signs let you know that the left lane on a divided highway is not a "fast" lane; it is a passing lane.
After you pass someone, move into the right lane once you've safely cleared the vehicle. Impeding the flow of traffic by continuing to drive in the left lane is punishable by a fine of up to $200.

Years ago, when I visited a friend down in Kerrville, I noticed that drivers would slide over into the wide shoulder enough to let you pass on the rural two lane roads. I like that regard for others. I would say it's a Southern thing, but Florida drivers are just as bad as Ohio for clogging up traffic.

"I would say it's a Southern thing, but Florida drivers are just as bad as Ohio for clogging up traffic."
"Florida is a unique state. There is a popular saying in Florida that "The North is in the South, and the South is in the North" or "The more north you go the more Southern it gets." This refers to the vast cultural difference between peoples of North and South Florida. Despite being the most geographically southeastern state, it has experienced such rapid population growth from regions outside of the traditional South that it is sometimes no longer considered to be "culturally Southern" in some areas. The least "Southern" part of the state is South Florida, which has been transformed by the rapid influx of Northern migrants and immigration from (especially) Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia."...... Wikipedia
So, the Florida offenders are either people that came from Ohio or still think they are in Europe?

Here in N Alabama we have to pass people using the right lane cause some Folk think it's okay to go super slow the whole way in the left lane

Wow, sounds like another planet. Imagine all 12 lanes not being so clogged that passing is possible. ( Slight exaggeration.)

Jake, sorry I helped hijack your thread. It sounds like Jeremy is going to take care of you with a box of San Jacinto material though. He collects great stuff that will be perfect for your class tumbling project.

Garage Rocker no worries, I know how threads get a lil sideways sometimes...LOL! txrockhunter I sent you a PM and my students and myself would be grateful for the material. I am sure it will be fantastic and the students always like to hear where the rocks come from. Many of them have never been much further than West Virginia east, Pittsburgh north, or Columbus west so Texas might as well be another country as far as they are concerned. Thanks, Jake
