Had slab come apart during the lapping process. Decided to try an epoxy to repair it.

Epoxy? I though that was stuff was called liquid agate. No problem to convince people that slab really was wood, a long time ago.

I like the liquid agate term! will use it, thanks. Oak, 10 to 15 million years ago more or less.

rare to fine nice round anyplace even in the worlds largest petrified forest, Lacomb Oregon. Burnett's p wood on old sodaville rd. & rock hill. would fiber glass the face cuts of rounds. then make the next cut. Though most of the rounds he milled were over 3 - 4 ft rounds. local material from the encapsulation of the Yucatan in pack 65 million yrs ago. judge the side you like. add glass the face BEFORE the next cut ..... risen to cure is about 12 hour i use boat risen from the local shop.
should prime the surface with a thinned out mix of risen. so as to fill cracks an voids just before laying out a wet risen coated glass mat on slab.

I use glass mat on some of the more delicate pieces. I have not tried glassing before making a cut tho. Some times I glue a piece of plywood to hold everything in place while making the cut. That way I am not committed to a side to finish. If I had fiberglassed this slab, I would not had to repair it. Maybe it is time for me to rethink the process and fiberglass sooner rather than later. thanks for the tips.
