Greetings All,
Great idea for a subboard Andy, the original board is what, 15 pages deep now? Lots of good information building up there.
I just received my 20 lbs of grit from Kingsley North today, and for retail sale of grit over the internet for small amounts, I haven't seen cheaper prices.
5 lbs of 60/90 grit $12.00, of120/220 grit $12.00, of 240 grit $13.

I got my 50 lb bag of 60/90 a week ago and I couldn't be more happy. It seems that kingsley have better quallity grit, then some other retailers I've bought from. Kingsley's grit is more "grainy" an less "flaky." The grit last longer. I was still finding good grit in the bottom my barrels even after 8 straight days of tumbling! ;D

Kingsley North is definitely a great source. Every time I deal with "da yoopers" I am even more impressed. 50 pounds of 60/90 for $65 is something else, and I agree with James, it seems to be better grit than I've gotten from some other places. They also carry liners for the Thumler Model B. Order always arrives in two to three days. The UP (Upper Peninsula) is also a very good place to find rocks as well as buy rocks.

I just got another 25 lbs of Lake Superior agates, and they are some of the nicest tumbling rocks I've found. Excellent color, nice size. I ordered the select type, and although they're spendy, almost every one is a keeper.
Be warned though, they're tough as woodpecker lips, and take about a month in the course grind.
