There is a reason I rarely weave. It hurts my hands, it's boring and it takes too long. BUT, I do love the look. I had this big beautiful moonstone that I got direct from India, so it had that rounded girdle edge Indian cut. Not so good for traditional border wrapping. I found a youtube video on this old design. I almost felt bad using it because I remember when the girl who came out with it had a tutorial. I have done similar wraps, but not this one. Anyway, I didn't like the way she used a clamp, so I did something different. I also did the bail significantly different. It took forever because I had to keep taking breaks. In the end, though, after the patina, I liked it well enough. Photographing it was just as much trouble. This is a really fine moonstone and photographed like opal. And, I got another done, too. An amazonite. This one does NOT look nearly as difficult to do as it was. Thanks for looking!

Wow Tela that's the greatest moonstone I have ever seen! Thanks! I searched hi and lo for some good, large moonstones and finally found some in an etsy shop from India. It wasn't cheap, so I wanted to do an expensive wrap to get my money back.

That is a trippy wrap. It's beautiful. I agree that the wrapping is boring. And depressing when it doesn't go right cos so much energy goes into it. But you did a grate ( ) job.

I tried using the clamp, but the wires kept shifting around. If you try the vid and have trouble with the clamp, let me know. I also didn't like the way she did the top. It didn't look at all secure to me, so I did something different.

I just finished a blog post about it. I explained it in one of the paragraphs. Since you have seen the video, it will probably make sense to you. www.blog.telaformosa.com/2016/10/over-moon-weaving-with-moonstone.html
