I am trying to figure out the value of a 14" lortone saw that my dad had, he has passed away. I am trying to be fair about the price. He was a dedicated rock hound, I loved getting him to his destination to collect I am not sure what he paid for it but I know it wasn't cheap he bought it used He got very little use out of it due to health I have some good pictures of it, but I don't know how to post them. I did post it for sale on Phoenix Craig's list If you want to see pictures or someone can tell me how to on this form. I want to find a good home for this and be fair with the price

My experience has been if it is used but like new then 25% off retail. Well used but everything works is more like 50% of retail.

I just looked it up on Craigslist. Those drop saws usually go for $300-$500 so your price of $500 Or best offer is just about right.

I assume this is your saw listed here: phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/for/5841556662.html If so it appears to be in fairly good shape. The gold painted Lortones were made in the 1960s. Lapidary equipment prices vary in different parts of the country. I'm in the Southeast and not a lot of used lapidary saws come up for sale around here. Assuming that everything works properly and that the blade runs true, I would expect to get about $400-450 for it in my area. Larry C.
