I have been cutting nodules that I have picked up from various small collections. These are a few I decided to polish. Moctezuma Agate - this is a nice little nodule. It has nice banding and a parallax effect. Laguna Agate - nice pseudomorphs, banding, druse center and parallax effect. Woodward Ranch Plume Agate - nice well defined plumes and several small fortifications. Condor Agate - fractured one but this shows how well these polish. Condor Agate - Red, yellow, lavender, with a druse interior and a parallax effext. Aragonite pseudomorph replaced by Coyamito - this is a great little agate. Soft red, white and pastel blue, nice banding and parallax effect.

Awesome, i love agate and you show those off nicely. What's the big orange fortification in the background? The orange and yellow fortification is from a Moroccan Seam Agate I started slabbing last night. I finished slabbing it today and will post some slab photos tomorrow. There are some really nice fortifications in them.

Those are really great.
Please define "parallax effect".
I'm familiar with the term in ballistics usage. Not in lapidary...

Those are really great. Please define "parallax effect". I'm familiar with the term in ballistics usage. Not in lapidary... Same basic definition as with ballistics. As the angle of light moves across the banding in the agate, the bands appear to move and change their position.

Not a super great video, but you can see the effect. I have one of these, they are cool!
