Anybody use this model or a bandsaw.Looks like a more versatile choice over a trim saw, which I have, especially for making more detailed preforms. Any modifications or homegrown add-ons that are outthere?

They're designed for glass so it's real slow going with harder rocks from what I hear, never tried one myself.

I sold the Gryphon C40 bandsaws and ring saws for many years. They do cut slower than conventional trim saws but you can cut curves, etc. Or cut preforms with less waste. Opt for the "fuser blade" for the bandsaw for making straight cuts on agate. The ring saw was slower yet and has a very complicated drive system.
