Thanks John- I just got an order from him; same packing job. It was is a double paper bag. The difference is, mine stayed in one piece. But I'm happy to know that if something does go south, Randy is good for it. And you are right, the order got here Super fast, like 2 days! Kudos!

I have used BishRocks also, 5lbs 60/90 lbs. The ziplock bag did not have a tight seal, but most stayed in the bag.
I just got 50 lbs from AAA-Industrial. I thought I asked for standard UPS, but the email reply said 2nd day air. I called to say I really wanted standard ground service (yes, I am cheap)and they credited the difference. It was standard UPS. The total was almost $80 with shipping. So.. about $1.60 per lb. No problem with leakage. Package was a 5 gallon pail.

hey cal you should try this place next time i order 60/90 im gonna give them a try
Hi John, Our 60/90 is $.52 per pound. Since we have an office in Barre, VT it should be more economical to ship your material UPS from that location. The freight would be approx. $19.50 It would also deliver 1 day sooner shipping from VT than it would if shipped from GA. The total cost on your order would be approx. $45.50. If you choose to have this shipped COD please add $7 to the total. If you are interested in placing an order, or if there is any thing I can help you with please let me know. Please feel free to contact us at 888-283-5863 or email tiffany@milessupply.com Thank you! Tiffany Fleeman Miles Supply-Elberton, GA i asked tiffany to put this email on our board she didnt mind so if intrested email her seeya john

We also ordered 60/90 grit from Bishrocks - 10 lbs. for $14.00, shipping was $11.00. I compared prices with lots of places online and found that even with $11 shipping, nobody could beat the price.
There was a tear in the top of the sack and what appeared to be ALOT of spillage, but when we weighed it all out, we had almost 10-3/4 pounds of grit.
I think alot of the spillage happens at the hands of the shipper, not the seller. They throw those packages around, stack them haphazardly and basically don't care. Paper sacks or plastic bags can only take so much abuse before they split open and they get plenty of abuse getting from one place to another.

Shipping grit in paper bags? Someone should be shot...
I bought a bunch from Kingsley North recently, and and it can DOUBLE bagged in heatsealed heavy duty plastic bags. This is the way to go. I ordered 25 lbs of 60/90, as well as some other grits, and they broke it all up into nice 6-8 lb bags. They store nicely while waiting for their fate.
Paper bags???
