greeneyedlady, would you please tell me some beaches you have collected at for lake superior agates? I'm planning a trip to either Minnesota or the upper peninsula. I even bought two separate books on the subject. Pretty please with sugar on top.

There use to be a good gravel pit in South St Paul, Mn where i live, but now it is gone because too many thieves broke in . However there are many places that one can go to such as lakes, gravel pits, but the best places are further up North. I will try and find a link with a map of where you can follow where the ice glaciers deposited the agates.

The 24th one is really cool! Is that quartz or amethyst in there?

That ruins the whole point of visiting up north, broseph82. If I have to choose agates over seeing Lake Superior, I'mma gonna see me some Lake Superior. And find me an agate scattered amongst the sands!
Sand ain't gonna stop me from finding agates.

No car or truck.
