Well looking at some of my fellow RTH's tumbles (you shall remain nameless, but thank you!) I have thrown 24# of "fininshed" tumbles back into the grit. Stage 1 and perfect stones can not be over emphasized. Perfect stones BEFORE they move on. My bad and lack of patience. Don't rush stage 1!

This should be the first thing everyone gets told when attempting to tumble rocks! It really makes all the difference in your enjoyment of this hobby.

Patience in stage 1 is probably the most important and most difficult to embrace lesson you can learn. However, you can still take them out and look at them once a week or so. It helps to make the wait a little more tolerable. Having 4 tumblers also helps, because I usually always have one that I can clean out every week.
