Now that is cool. Wonder if you could somehow polish it without damaging it?

I know a location where there are possibly hundreds of thousands of tons of the same thing, only red agate and better quality.

I can find crinoid stems in just about anyway they exist . The specimen i posted is a exceptional piece showing a plate in the process of being agatized . I did`nt post it for having a competition with anybody, but Yours is not agatized . your "red"! color is not that important to me either, but mine is blue.

Thats cool . i did`nt take the better quality wordage well. I would like to see a cut or broken piece of yours. it is a great fossil specimen , i suspect the red color is from iron and the interior may be different colors . appears to be a limestone base. this from arizona?

It is from AZ. I despise the stuff. It comes from what I call the broken truck spot. It is agatized all of the way through and polishes well, but most of the fossils under the surface are hard to see. Everyone else loves it. I may have given it all away and maybe that is why I can't find any of it. That was the only pic I could find too. But, liike I said, it is there by the ton.
