Howdy folks, Well James and Bob got me all enthused about cutting again this week so I cut a few. These are the first. BTW, I see photobucket has revamped again so here we go, have to learn how to do it still again...Mel This Rio jasper had big ole poppies on the exterior. Pic of how the exterior looked: Inside though, it proved to be just another tiger tail jasper example. The dark area is very silvery so it's either hematite or manganese. When ole Bob raided my rock pile a few weeks ago, I set aside this one example of Cadys Fluorite Mine Plume agate for myself. I found this as float below the canyon with the big frothy brown nodules that looked like lava balls and it was one of the best I found. Some of these nodules were the size of basket balls but most had just yellow jasper. Judging from all the broken nodules, the original discoverers must have cleaned up on good plume. Got three slabs so far and the heel is real nice but the plume area thins towards the edges. Two of the slabs: Closer shot:

The outside told a lie. Cool yellow orbs though. More hema/magnetite than the surface hinted at. The CFMP stuff is cool freaky. Would like a basketball of that one.
Cut a peculiar flat cross-tube palm plate this morn. Has some anomalies that look like the base of the root ball intersection with soil.

Love that Cadys plume!
I cut a Rio the other day that also had quite a bit of the hematite or manganese in it. I think it's pretty darn cool looking. Will post pics today if the sun ever comes out.
