Lets me clarify: I'm selling these slabs after trying to sell them on eBay, so I took them off the site. What I will do is ship the slabs in one single MFR box padded extensively. This box will contain two 1/4'' slabs that have nice, clear banding, and five other slabs cut 3/8'' thick(good for cabbing). The thinner slabs are pictured at top left and bottom right. All Uruguay blue agate. Yes, four of these slabs have natural fractures. Does that effect the price at all? I would say so. If you've never worked with this stuff before, now is your chance. This box will also contain six slabs of Kentucky Quartz cut 3/8'' thick. This stuff can be polished to a near perfect shine and can be used for decorative purposes. The rind has a jasper-like consistency and appearance. The bottom center slab was chipped sometime after cutting. What you see is what you get. A pretty nice box of slabs, huh? You're probably drooling by now, I wouldn't blame you. My ideal price for the whole box is $65, but others may think that is a tad bit high. A reasonable price is $55. If I can get $65 I would be overjoyed. Just make an offer between $55-65. I would include shipping. I accept Paypal. Shoot a private message if your heart is set.

Does anyone have a need for blue agate slabs and quartz slabs or are simply interested? I'll work with you to give you quality results.

You seriously need to change your eBay ID and maybe buy a few things to get your feedback up some.

To "buy a few things" I must first earn a mediocre sum of money through the selling of these slabs, and even more.
I dare say, I will accept $50 for the box of slabs and for shipping, no less.
I can only hope many, many people view this thread.
No, I'm not a beggar. I'm trying to do business online.

I never insinuated that you were a beggar, just made a couple suggestions that I would think might help you with selling on eBay. You don't need to buy expensive items on eBay to get feedback. Many folks are leery of buying from a seller with only one feedback and even that one is over a year old. I also suggested a eBay user ID name change. Go with something that doesn't look like someone's password or a name some haji in Sri Lanka might have come up with. Americanize yourself! just sayin'...
Since you don't seem to be going to college anymore, don't you have a job now?
Looks like this thread has been viewed over 175 times.
Good luck selling your slabs.

adam. captbob is a seasoned buyer of online goods. He spends substantial money on stones. He is offering good advice from the perspective of a buyer. He is indeed your target audience. It will be a good choice if you carefully consider his thoughts and implement them. He done good by you here. +1 for Bob!

Great looking slabs! I'm more into tumbling material though and have to start thinking about saving some money to get others Christmas gifts. I just can't understand why EVERYONE doesn't want rocks! :-)

adam Please provide a link to your eBay shop. I'd like to see what you have. Thanks. There's nothing listed at present, but his eBay user ID is a system-generated name which is essentially just a string of characters and he only has one feedback. Bob provided some sound advice. I 'm also a Powerseller and I buy a lot from eBay. Buyers will shy away from sellers with very little feedback, unless the item is low priced or it's an exceptionally good deal.
If you're in no hurry to sell the slabs, consider selling them individually. This enables you to offer lower priced items and help build feedback. Shipping will cost you $2.55 for 1st class postage with tracking and a bubble mailer costs about $.10. If you price the slabs at, say, $10 each, you'd make a similar amount of profit as you would selling the lot.

I went ahead and changed my eBay username to "Magical_Rocks_and_Minerals". No, no job for me, got to make my money by selling. And I only stayed at my college for a day last fall--I gave up too easy, but I'll survive. I was totally prepared, but I left the college to travel. I don't want this thread to be seen by the whole world, just by potential buyers. Thanks, captbob.

adam Please provide a link to your eBay shop. I'd like to see what you have. Thanks. www.ebay.com/usr/magical_rocks_and_mineralsPat, for now I am just selling slabs. I do have over a dozen medium sized Kentucky geodes I plan on listing on my eBay soon. I also have some tumble polished stones, but not a ton. I'll list those polished stones individually as well. That's about it.

Nice to know you have three halves. Nice t-egg from salton. Niland also? Yeah, all from Niland. If I could go back to southern California, I would. Just for the rocks. It would be great if I had someone to hound with, but sometimes hounding alone is the better option. Being alone in the desert at sunset and coming upon a wonderful find is one of the best feelings in the world. As long as you get home safely... Out here in Kentucky I can really only hound geodes(chalcedony, agate, quartz), tiny invertebrate fossils, and petrified wood. Gets stale after a while.

Yeah, I thought those 3 halves were kinda cute. I don't mean to sound critical in any way, but as a buyer- a serious ebayer with 1000's of combined sales and purchases, I just want to say that you might want to change up your bio a little a bit. People want you to sell to them. You don't want to scare them off by saying your life is not in order. That says you may not be able to ship in time, etc. Nothing wrong with what you said, just maybe not the right place. Perhaps more about hounding rocks in Kentucky. Not many people selling Kentucky rocks on ebay.

Good start and good changes. Also, it's always good for sellers to be thorough with their descriptions. Currently, the only frame of reference you have for size is your hand holding the slabs. I recommend including at the very least, approximate measurements including total weight. Or maybe taking photographs of the slabs next to something that has a uniform size, like a coin, ruler or pop can.

Why are you on eBay Canada? If he ships there, he'll show up there. I see him on US ebay, too.

That is the place where you give everyone the reasons why they should buy FROM YOU. Others sell similar stuff. Why should.they buy from you? In sales management we teach our consultants that the customer needs 4 things to make a purchasing decision. They need to trust the company, the product, the presenter and the price. The customer chooses the order of importance. If the first three are solid, then price is less important to many, but not all. Bio is both company and personal story here, because, Adam, you are both. Then in the listings you put all the reasons they should buy THAT PRODUCT. I include company story in my ebay listings too. I have sold $$millions online. This works.

Well, buy from me because I'm a poor high school graduate that prefers not to have a job and I live in a low income apartment and I have no chance of exceeding in life without selling half my rocks. Apparently, if I don't explain myself on eBay, I'm filth that shouldn't be bought from.

I am, uncharacteristically, unable to determine whether this is a meltdown or farce.
