I've been curious about that too. Not necessarily with toilet tanks, but with ceramics in general.

I went to the old dump and brought home a bunch of toilet chunks. I cut them up with my saw and used them in a rotary in the rough stage. They rounded out very fast, but looked surprisingly wonderful. I think that it would work in a vibe, but the rotary worked them fast.
