Are the companies advertised on the top of the web pages here vetted in any way? (I hope I'm not putting anyone out on a limb).

Are the companies, like Berg's, the Rock Shed, etc. different in some service way, like one is faster but another is more cooperative with problems, or something like that? Has anyone any such impressions?

A lot of people seem to like the Rock Shed. Anyone have experience with Berg's?

All,
The ads are inserted by Google. Totally nothing to do with me or rocktumblinghobby.com
Proboards advertise with Google through a system which is known as "adsense" - thats where they are from. When an ad gets clicked on - I think that google pays the advertiser a couple of cents. You can see the text "Ads by Google" just underneath them - if you follow this link you can get more detailed info on how it works.
Generally speaking - Google are VERY STRINGENT in their vetting of advertisers - and block scam artists and the like from advertising - so thats a fairly good start trustwise.
I have no info on why people cant click on them sometimes (thewiz) - it - unfortunately - is 100% out of my control.
Thewiz - if you like - edit the source code with your browser - save it and fire it over to me and I'll explain what the problem is for you - or at least have a go.
cheers
Andrew.
