Never to old to learn something in life! So I will give it a shot too.............Two thumps up and jumping in with both feet!! That's a great attitude! You'll do fine, I'm sure. Just remember: practice, practice and practice. And, of course, post pictures.

I hope you bought the cooperative wire, I mistakenly purchased the unruly type. Won't listen to me at all.
Good luck and try to have fun with it!

We are brothers from another mother-we hound together, get in trouble together, house visits,etc,etc...So yes,I know his secret hounding areas,as he also knows mine... If I can't make it hounding someplace,he brings me back some goodies,as I also do him... Our wives are good friends too,so that helps a bunch.....LOL

Cabbed some coral, that James sent me...This will be my testing material.... Go for it! I you have a set back or get frustrated, try a pear. They are easier to wrap. Gorgeous cab, btw!

I'm also interested in how you work the wire. I've been wrapping for a while now and am beginning to get a "feel" for the wire. Progress is slow - think I just don't have a knack for it but I am really really enjoying the learning process. Please do post photos of the results.

Well I had the wire and tools sitting here, skipped doing the coral... Did an odd shaped raw tumbled piece of green jasper instead..... Not the best but not to bad for free hand..... I keep it by the computer desk,so I can look at it and see the mistakes I did and the corrections I need to do on the next one.... Thanks for looking...... Any pointers or comments are great-I'm a big boy I can take the criticism...LOL This rock wasn't even with any side! Smoothed to a point on one side, thick on the other, dimples and hills too....But I figured it out (somewhat) LOL
