It has been awhile since I have had the urge to make anything. I intended on doing more Fordite but lost my train of thought and end up with a variety. Leland blue Fordite Fordite Petoskey stone Red tiger eye Red moss Mexican lace Thanks for looking Chuck

Every time I see Fordite I get sick to my stomach. My husband worked in the body shop at Jeep in Toledo for 15 years and watched literally TONS of that stuff in the rough go by every day on the car carriers on the assembly line. If he only would have known then that it would someday be so valuable. He said he could just chip it off with his tools there and it was sometimes 4 and 5 inches thick over the entire carrier. The factory actually had a special area where an outside contractor came in and pressure blasted the stuff off every now and then. They used lots of metallic paints and there was layer after layer of every color they used in varying combinations. He retired from Jeep in 1999 before Fordite was popular.

Nice and clean as usual, Chuck. I really love that Leland and the next to the last crazy lace. Superb stock and wraps. Thanks Tela. The tiger eye, red moss and crazy lace were all grooved and cabbed to the 120 hard wheel then tossed in the tumbler to be finished. I really like the look when they are done. The grooves get just slightly rounded off and shiny. I think it actually looks better then a groove that is cut after the stone is fully cabbed. That only works on agates and jaspers though. Chuck

rockjunquieThis is what I meant. This is the groove of one that is tumbled after the groove is cut. I wish my grooves were always as precise as this photo but depth is hard to control. Chuck

Yeah, I like the tumbled look and it smooths chips, too.

Well I am just a fool over crazy lace!!# Love them all Chuck but I got a bag of slab glass from a iron smelting outfit locally here and tumbled 3 lil ones. They r nice, sorta look like shiny jade. Could I trouble you for a pic of the Land blue rough? Mine is a grayish foamy green on the top and a deep jade green on the bottom. It's in sheets anywhere from a half inch thick to a couple inches thick. I think I need to hand slab it to separate the dark green from the foamy top. The top has a lot of bubbles and bits. It tumbles out to be very nice!

Ok one more. Awhile back I posted a picture of this tumbled stone and rockjunquie had asked how it would cab. It is a lake Huron beach rock. I sliced open the tumbled stone and made this pendant from it. Chuck
