Hi,all! I was recently able to buy an excellent-condition used Genie arbor/motor for $50.00, and it came with an assortment of 1 3/8s and 5/8s spacers and bushings. So I'm trying to "build" the rest of the machine, based on what's in the DP Genie catalog, and pictures. Can any of you Genie owners out there give me an idea of how the spacers are configured between the wheels (ie: is it 1 3/8, wheel, 5/8, wheel, etc)? Thanks for any input and advice on this machine!

it will depend on what wheels you use

If stock wheels you can call DP. Mine is set up with four wheels on and last two on extra shaft. I just swapped spacers until everything worked.

I think the narrow spacers on inside ends. You want maximum space between wheels. If you use other than DP wheels the hub widths will be likely different. If the Genie has beenstored for a long time replace motor capacitor. It is in the motor mount base.

Thanks for the input, y'all! Great advice on the capacitor, too, johnsgems. The fellow I bought it from is a longtime lapidary, and he did have it hanging around for over 6 months, but plugged it in and it hummed along quietly. BUT, I do know it's probably better safe than sorry. ;-)

Months should not be a problem. Years make a difference.
