I know we can get more votes in. If your reading this vote Also I see I accidentally forgot to check the box that says show results after voting... do you (voters) like it this way or seeing results after voting?

I like to see the results sooner, and see what happens as people continue to vote.

I don't really care, but think the results will be more honest if you can't see till voting is over.

I wish it had a submit button that once submitted you couldn't change the vote regardless of when resaults are shown.

You can change it? Huh, didn't know that. Bummer is I will probably never remember to check back and see who won if I have to wait a few weeks.

Thanks Tommy. Now you're back in fighting trim I doubt I'll win any more. At least you don't have to stress your ankle while cutting stones -- just hunting them. I'm looking forward to seeing your December entry.

Now you're back in fighting trim I doubt I'll win any more. Haha thanks for the kind words but there's not a chance of that being true. I've been getting my butt kicked all year - think I won once. I thought my August entry Ocean Picture Rock was a slam dunk... nope lol.

Thanks kk. Wish I had your sculptural/carving skills but no luck. Thanks for the nice thoughts.

Beautiful cab, Rick. It deserved my vote and a win. I'm always a sucker for willow creek.

Wow, everyone, thanks! I'm humbled by all the congrats. It's funny -- when I slabbed that Willow Creek piece I was disappointed because it lacked the usual great W.C. colors. Yet it had intriguing patterns and contrasts and it was only when I cut the companion cab below did it occur to me it might be a good entry for this competition with its snow-scene aspect. I'm a long-time fan of Willow Creek jasper. I remember being gobsmacked when the founder of Stewart's Gem Shop in Boise displayed several 4-foot-plus diameter W.C. thundereggs with jasper centers many years ago. I learned those eggs were just "baby sized" for the locality. When I returned to the Boise area in the mid-1970s my house was only a few miles from the mine. I visited several times but the property was leased to a guy who was only interested in digging decorative building stone and I wasn't able to get much good jasper. What little I have now was sourced elsewhere, piece by piece. Anyhow, thanks for the congrats -- and I hope all of you will participate in future cab competitions. Here's another I cut recently that I like a lot:

It was a tough vote, several beauties. Congratulations Mr. Gemfeller!
On a side note I too liked not seeing the votes before it closes. I vote based on shape and polish (basically which cab is cut the best) but can see how the vote tally could influence others.
