Well if you can belive this is take 4, I moved just moved my photobucket tab away from the back button. I was almost finished 3 times and I am fustrated. I understand why we have to post pictures this way but it doesn't mean I have to like it. Should be a save button somewhere so we don't lose what we've sown. Here it goes again.
Miss Pat this is for you. I hope you can understand this as sometimes my mastery of english, skills, and photography is not so good looking.
I use 20 ga. Argentium wire, most of the time people who are alergic to regular Sterling can tolerate Argentium. I am assuming you would practice with copper wire first. I cut a piece 4 or 5 inches long and bend it in two. Use your chain link pliers to bend a loop on the attached end. The first pair I make I have a tendency to make it too big, even though I know I am going to.
Grab something round like a pencil, sharpie or anything the size you desire the hoop to be. After the shape is close I will adjust a little and put a small bend in the tail.
Now is the time to do any final bending or adjusting for the final shape. Use your wire cutters and clip off where the ear wires are attached and you should have just made your first pair of ear wires. No two pairs are exactly alike and you can customize the shape to match your ear rings or customer and a lot cheaper than store bought.
I clean the ends up with a file or sand paper, you can throw them in a tumbler to harden them up some if you like.
Whew, I am glad I didn't screw up again. I hope this helped someone. Just a quick note on Identical earings, I glue two pieces of metal together with contact cement and cut them out. Like magic two of a kind.
