I have about 130 preforms in the batch. Will try and solve the picture posting puzzle. I tried a couple of times before but failed and gave up too quickly. Will see if a bit more persistence pays off.

The way I post is to hover over the photo, then hover over the 3 lines in the upper left corner, click on share, then click on the bottom "IMG" link. It will momentarily turn yellow and say "Copied," then I paste the link into the post.
Peace,
Rich

Be aware that anyone can browse your photobucket account. Just sayin' for if you planned to host more personal photos there in the future.

They are in the soap rinse for 3 more hours. Then Church and Supper and then picture time.
Hopefully it's worth the wait. I think bar is set pretty low for picture posting wait time!! Of course I not the most interesting man in the world either!!

Ok, Not sure what I did to insert the pictures and why sometimes I insert the link. Hey, you look just like your avatar! Good job and cool! I have Flickr and posting photos here worked a couple of times and then it never worked again although it seemed I was doing everything the same. But most people figure it out, it just takes research and experimentation. I'll do those at some point in time.... I love to see others photos, just a bit lazy. Congrats on sticking to figuring it out! Okay, saw your rock photos now. Very nice. Love that Texas Wood!

It seems that my issue with taking pictures, is the closeup. Need to practice that a good bit more before I post more of those. Here's a look at the 120 that made the grade for this run; Started with about 130 or so preforms in the 15lb rotary. Ran 10 days on 80, recharging the grit at the 3rd day. I also added about a cup and a half of used tumbling slurry and almost 2 cups of small trimmings and pea gravel. Cleaned out after the 10th day, added the TigersEye and thin preforms and ran 11 days on 220, recharging once at the 3rd day. Transferred to the 18 lb vibrating tumbler. Added about 3-4lbs of ready to polish Arkansas Quartz to make up the difference between the 15lb load the 18lb barrel. Added about 6 heaping tablespoons of saved Polish Slurry, about 1/3 polish and 2/3 Kitty Litter. Ran 70 hours. Rinsed for 6 hours in shaved Ivory Soap. 1) Thanks to all you slurry guys it's really helping the process. This batch was my best to date for the flat Preforms. I am now keeping a 5 gallon bucket of used, dried tumbler slurry under the workbench. 2) I suspect that the pea gravel and the small saw trimmings also contributed to the better result here. Plus they look pretty neat 3) Have found that not all agate is created equally. The Tigerseye and a couple of the others can skip the 80 and go straight to 220 as they are softer and grind too fast. Also need to be aware of soft or porous spots in certain materials, they will deform badly in the tumbler. Being a lot more selective with the next batch I am putting together for the tumbler. 4) Patience!! Thanks for all the help H

Those are looking good! I have been struggling with the photography too but think I am getting the hang of it. A good sturdy tripod and cable release was very helpful for me but some here do great with a cell phone hand held!
