I spent the last few hours drilling holes in rocks. then i spent another $50 online to cyberrockhound.com for more drill bits.....trying different ones trying to find the best....opinions welcome!

I have to agree with John on Lopacki's. Good prices and good service, along with good quality. I've been using a diamond burr(1/16") to drill holes in rocks and it seems to work well for me. Just a thought.

Seems like I remember Sandman saying not to use too high of a drill speed with the diamond bits, they heat up and the stuff holding the diamond dust on melts and the dust comes off. If you are going through them quickly, thay may be something to consider. Sandman, correct me if I'm wrong

thats what i read in lopakis catalog he has some tips in the begining,, and if ya think about it it would heat up faster

Lopakis looks like a good site, will try them next after i get the ones i ordered from cyberrockhound.
i use a rather ingenious jig that is funny to look at but allows me to secure the rock in a vise underwater to drill, no overheating. ok, so it all sets in a meatloaf pan....but it works! the "dust" looks like smoke coming out in the water....kinda cool!
