Ya show off Chuck . No really , that is a super looking batch of carnelians . Very well done . How do you deal with any little cracks or pits that end up with polish in them when done ? Sometimes no matter how much I wash or burnish it is still there .

I didn't expect all the banding in carnelians. I always thought they were just plain red. What part of the world did those come from?

You have some real beauties there! The carnelian I brought had a nice darker orange color and polished well, but it was otherwise somewhat boring. I'm wondering about removing the polish too. I can get it off with a toothbrush and a bit of effort, but there's no way you could do that with 17 pounds. Then, a lot of people buying them probably don't care or even notice it.
Love your banded and 2 and 3-tone ones!

They were listed as Oregon carnelian agates but no guarantees when it comes to Ebay. I would say about 10 percent had some cool patterns or banding but as a whole it is an impressive amount of glowing orange agates. I was happy with them. Chuck

Thank you- I do the normal washes and burnishing then if there's any remaining polish to deal with I go to high pressure water in the laundry tub. Chuck

Chuck Pretty much the same thing I do , just hoping someone had a less time consuming way to get it done .

I ordered some carnelian that came from Brazil as a kid thru Lapidary Journal about 1970. Seemed like it was $2.50/pound. Tumbled it in a 3 pound(Sears ?) rotary. They turned out great. Maybe even better than yours ha ha. Thinking about finding some copies on Ebay late 60's vintage. Drooled over the rocks they had for sale. Magazine cover looked just like this: Ebay had all 12 1967 editions for $9.95. I just bought them.
