WOW! Very nice Don, your work is great. Do you coat the copper and brass with wax or poly?

All self promotion done in the right arena should be shameless. If we ain't gonna promote ourselves ain't nobody gonna do it for us. haha

I used to coat all copper and brass products, but found that it created more problems than it helped prevent. The only items I coat now are items with a forced patina of some kind that must be coated to preserve the patina. For that I use a ceramic clear coating. I'll still coat items with ren wax if the customer requests it but if the item wants to be bright and shiny, a simple polishing cloth works best.

Then there is no problems with fingers and wrists turning black or green. I quit coating my copper earrings, and don't do copper rings or bracelets unless I line them with silver.

I figure people in the market for copper and brass jewelry understand that verdigris comes with the territory. The alternative is gold alloys at a much, much higher cost.

Just this week, I bought my first ren wax and used it for copper patina. It changes the look of the patina, but not really in a bad way. Not sure if I like it overall, but it does resist fingerprints on shiny metal and for that I like it.
