I purchased books from both, and they came quickly and no problems. Not much experience, but just wanted to say they look good.

I just got some stuff from the rockshed too. I got 3# 60/90, 1# 120/220, 1# 500, 1# tripoli, 8oz cerium, 1# sodalite, 1# pet. wood, 1# prairie agate and 1# blue jasper. This was my first purchase for rocks and grits, now I just need my tumbler. The tumbler I won on ebay came from a guy in Punta Gorda Florida, and just after I won it he emailed me and told me not to send payment yet because the hurricane was coming. He said he would respond back and tell me when it was good to pay him. That was the last I have heard from him. It was about a week ago. I hope he is okay. But in the mean time I don't know if I should bid on a different tumbler. But anyways, the rockshed was great and they had my package delivered within 4 business days I think, and I even got little candies in the package!!! ;D ;D ;D -Jackson

I would be a bit more patient. My brother lives in Fort Meyers, and they don't have power yet. So Punta Gorda will not either. My brother is a builder. None of his homes he has built received major damage, due to the new codes set after Andrew. He hears he may get power today.

I do not live far from Berg's. I drove there today for the first time. They had closed early for some reason today. I noticed that the business is for sale. Must be retiring. I did place an order online tonite.

Well, I purchased a lot of stuff from the Rockshed and I was not as lucky as you guys. My order took more than a week to arrive (CA). I ordered several types of rocks to be polished in the near future and only one of the bags actually weighted 1 pound, the others were an ounce or two short. Many of the rocks were too thin, or too small. And no candy for me Ha-ha-ha! Anyway, not great, but not too bad either. I'm just trying different places until I find the right one. I just ordered new supplies from Alpha Supply, Harbor Freight tools, and Stone Age industries, let's see how they perform!

I recieved an email from Berg's it says "Thank you for the order. Sorry we had to be closed Sat. This may happen now from time to time so please call ahead. We didn't charge you the shipping and handling charges on your order. The tracking # is (omitted)" They seem really nice. ;D I will have to just remember to call befor going there.

I recieved my order today from Berg's. Every thing in the order was as expected and it came very quick. They are selling the business, and will be retiring. I hope if they get a buyer, the new owners are as nice as Berg's.

We are kind of new at this and the Rockshed has been a big help when we call with questions. Our orders have come fast and we will use them regularly. Gordon

Rockshed-
Was recommended to them and I took the plunge. Got my tumbler and rocks in about 3 days. Candy too.
I was very pleased w/ the service. Am not experienced enought to determine if rocks were OK. I got some nice big pieces and some little ones too.

I ordered from the Rock Shed a couple of weeks ago - just grit this time, no rocks. I received excellent service - not only did more order arrrive in about four days, but Shawn was very patient and answered all my questions before I placed my order. I think I bugged him for about a week with questions . I seem to remember a roll of candy in with the order, but as I donated it to my 4-year-old, I don't remember what it was or if there were several pieces or not. I will definitely be using them in the future for grit, books, and rocks! Can't wait to try some turretilla agate and some of the other agates.
