Looking at the heavy concrete base of a Lot-O. Has to do with it's ability to function properly by design.
I stuck 2 layers of cardboard under the right side of my Viking vibe and it altered the mixing substantially. I had tried tilting it and it had little effect. Seems the softer padding under the right side is the cause for the change. Easier than putzing with the counterbalances.

My next purchase is going to be a Vibe tumbler..........Looking at options.. The only way to go Michael. Always spent 4 weeks 220-500-1000-polish in the barrel and a bunch of abrasives. Vibe- slap AO 80 to darn near polish in 2 days, 14,000 for a day to wet shine. 3 days vs 4 weeks Get you a Used Viking and a Lot-O.

I guess the dampening of the spring on that side was more effective than tilting. On my vibe I can grab one side to dampen and the rocks start climbing the other side pretty quickly. Some complicated physics going on in a vibe

Thank you. Interesting knowledge. It runs on a couple of 2 X 6's on a gravel floor. Not a consistent platform.

Since the topic is the Viking and how it sits ... I have a question. Anyone have suggestions or ideas relating to replacing the original rubber feet on the Vikings. Me ... I'm amazingly lucky .... I've accumulated 4 of them over the years. Just putting them to work after, redoing cracked brittle wiring, and some worn springs. Any recommendations on spring replacements? I have one large barrel and I have to find the old post on making the large barrels out of a old propane tank. Thanks all and have fun with your Vikings and Lot O's.

Their parts book has a big selection of feet.

Get you a Used Viking and a Lot-O. Easier to find hen's teeth. Whenever I see jamesp post about the Viking I kick myself for passing on it. But it is certainly getting a work out and I can vicariously enjoy it through his posts. The way my life has been for the past two years it would just be collecting dust with the Lot-O. Almost done with the remodel from hell. Now just clean the garage and get rid of everything we kept, but didn't put back in the house and I'll be back

jamesp just rebuilding an old Viking with as 35 lb barrel. It has a crack in the lining. I looked for your post that you made one from a pipe. I believe you then sectored it off. Any pictures and or dementions? I also have one with the 2 six lb barrels I haven't looked at yet.I seen some one made a barrel out of a propane tank? Any thought on redlining the 35 lb barrel.
