Wonderful rocks and great to do business with!! They are very good at answering all e-mails (even stupid questions,) ship promptly, and they are having a half-price sale until August.
I think some people from the board went there recently.

Hi Taryl. Can you post a link to the site? Eventually, sometime before August, I should have some money cookie

Try this www.alamorockshop.com/products.aspI dealt with Lisa and she is great. If you have any questions she's great about answering them. I got my petrified wood and some agate from her. The agate is kind of big, though, and I will have to break it up. Have fun shopping!!

Hi Tary, that was BE, LZ and me. They are very nice folks and have a lot of good rocks and equipment. They used to travel the rock show curcuit quite a bit but now they just run the shop. The owner said that she had been doing the rock shows since she was a child and her parents were the owners and after about 50 years it was time to stay home for awhile. If your ever in this part of Texas you should really consider dropping by their shop for a visit.

I LOVE Alamo Rock Shop!! One of my favorite places. BE and I can easily spend hours going through all those bins. They are really nice folks. The first time we went we got a tour of the back where they do all the work. She showed us all the equipment and explained what each did. It was really interesting - esp. since we were beginners at this rock tumbling thing. BE and I want to go back before the sale is over. We sure don't need anymore rocks, at least I don't, but who can pass up a 1/2 price sale of great rocks! Not me! I sure wish the sale was in the spring or fall though. It sure gets hot searching those bins for cool rocks. I sweat bullets and it runs down in my eyes and makes it hard to see all those rocks, burns a bit too! llana llana

Went to the web site and, being a newbie, I need to see pics of the rocks with their names to know what I'm getting into. One of the few reasons I miss TX, though.

Cookie - e-mail them, tell them which ones you like and ask what they are and if they can be tumbled together. They are very helpful. I am going from Dallas to AZ sometime this summer, could I detour and make a day trip out of it? I'm kind of 'stoopid when it comes to Texas - it's too big. I will be travelling I-20 to I-10 from Dallas to Phoenix. I know, I COULD consult a map but they just confuse me. I guess I've bleached my hair one too many times...that or all the partying in high school

Tary, it's 291 miles from Dallas to Boerne, about a 4 and a half hour trip. Go here for a map and directions www.mapblast.com/ and click on Directions, fill out the start from and destination. Step by step directions. Even a map moron like me understands mapblast! I never go anywhere without checking mapblast first! llana

If you decide to do that, be sure and let BE and I know. We might be able to come over and meet you. That would be fun.
BTW, they are closed on Monday!

Llana - thanks, I will plan on doing that. I don't know when I will be going, though - her house here in Texas closes on June 30 and I told her I needed to give at least a weeks notice before I can take my vacation...but she still doesn't have plans... God Love that woman, she's a fart in the wind sometimes

I have 2 weeks vacation I have to take by dec. (with a months notice), and december is a black out period, so I can't go then. We are planning, my hubby and I , to do something in Nov. that we are saving up for, but I need to take a week before then that doesn't cost alot of money.
I WANNA GO> I WANNA GO ;D
I can go in august if anybody is open for that. I'd love to meet you guys and go back to my home state.
let me know, cookie
