got my 45+ lbs of rocks - blue lace, sunset jasper, botswana, african turquoise, koi jasper, amazonite, sodalite and some stichtite. this is by far the most exciting and beautiful order i've received yet. i didn't get the botswana or blue lace in the pic but they are just as gorgeous. i couldn't fit them all on the counter as it's covered in rocks - polished, rough, big and little. cal handled everything so professionally and they were well packed and arrived quickly. thanks so much cal!! kim

Kim,
Thanks for the thumbs up, I really appreciate it! I am striving to treat others like I would like to be treated - getting what you ask for, prompt service and fast shipping.
Cal.
PS. Happy Birthday!

Thanks John and KD!
Cookie, the purple rock is stitchtite. I am not sure if it is the lighting or shading, but the stitchtite in the pictures is a deeper purple color than the actual rock.

i got big joy from cutting the stichtite, gave me a lot of confidence with my new saw because it was so soft and easy, i started the stuff on a 220 grind, moved it up to a prepolish in 6 days and weeded out the stuff that didn't look absolutely smooth and just started it in the tin Ox i got the other day along with some of that Utah wonderstone (I got from that other place) that refused to take a shine......
even if the Stichtite won't take a shine it is still pretty matrix, and the wonderstone is pretty too, i'll keep trying.
thanks again Cal for the great rock!

Hi KD,
Does your stitchtite have the same deep purple coloring as Rocky's photo?
I tried wetting a few pieces last night and in flourescent light, the color is a lighter shade of purple. However, in my office with dim lighting, the color was a much deeper shade of purple, but I doubt most people's rooms are as dim as my office.
I wish the stitchtite was a deep purple as Rocky's photo, but I think it was the lighting or something.

Oh man, whycha have to go and post that picture and tempt me?! I have been so good at refraining from not having Cal send me some and now it's gonna be really hard! I would like about 5 lbs. of everything he's got - but just cannot buy anymore rocks until my 5 gal. bucket is at least just half full.
I would love some of that stitchite. I love anything purple! (except my ugly sofa with purple flowers!)

cal they were wet and shaded by the other rocks as the light was coming from the other side - see if this is better directly under the fluorescent lighting - i made my husband look and he thinks the coloring is right wet drying dry kim

Ok Kim,
I didn't want to give Llana the wrong impression. Your right, the color is deeper when wet. And, as it dries, the color lightens up.
KD, how did the stichtite polish up?

Oh, ok, thanks Kim, I thought maybe there was a website I could look through. I'm looking for the best place to get some grit starter kits.

Otter,
You're very welcome. Sorry, but I can't remember what I threw in the box. If its a greenish rock with swirls, that is the budstone. Otherwise, you'll have to give me a description. Note to self, make a note of what you send!
