Built this monster about 15 years ago. It uses a PTO fertilizer spreader gear box to drive it. The gearbox gets switched back and forth between the two. Only works well in sandy soil. Also works good as a shaker box when shoveling gem soil onto shaker by hand. Thought about having it chromed. Totally built out of industrial waste. Heavy. Coming at you, 12 inch wide scoop is lowered into sand and lifts sand onto shaker screen Side view shaker drive(pat. pend.) bell crank assembly(smokes if not greased) root flapper, clod breaker

A video of that baby in action would be fun to see. I like the clod breaker idea. Doesn't look very portable.

Lol Hastings Florida is a big chip producer. 40 miles northerly down the St. John's River. Sandy rich river loam. Plows easy digs easy. Lots of artifacts. Shell mounds. "Hastings is known as the "Potato Capital of Florida" with 21,000 acres (85 km2) of potato farms, but also produces cabbage, onions, eggplant and ornamental horticulture."
