I cut a run of Mt. Rainier Tahoma Agate cabochons today. The material was purchased and sent to me by a customer who wanted a small pendant stone and an earring set. Unfortunately the slabs had a lot of fractures and liked to cleave off pieces at inopportune times. These are the cabs I cut for the earrings and pendant stone. Small shield which shows some banding. Freeform with blues, browns, cream, and black. Nice cab with contrasting colors. The dark areas are translucent, but really like to fracture. Triangular cab with soft blues and cream. This freeform has nice color but also has some surface pits that I was afraid to grind out. This was the largest of the cabs. Another freeform; I was trying to capture the dark bands on the outer edges of it. This one also has some surface fractures...and seeing the photo, it also has some scratches I need to polish out =\ I am not sure what I saw in this one... Last little Tahoma freeform; this one has a lot going on with its pattern and may be my favorite of the set. All the Tahoma was getting tedious so I cut a few other cabs as well. Sodalite Tiffany Stone - this is a recut of a previous cab that had chipped. Pietersite 1 Pietersite 2 Little Dinosaur Bone Texas Shrinkwood Have a great week! Roger

Tahoma is a beautiful stone, and it sure doesn't come around very often. I've got a small piece of it floating around somewhere, but it's not as large as the rough you must have gotten. Your cabs are outstanding!

Wonderful set. I really appreciated seeing the Tahoma cabs, as NDK said, they don't come around very often.
Peace,
Rich
