I have set my heart on the boulder opal from koroit and been lurking on eBay, but I'm a bit unsure about the prices and former bad experiences have keept me from buying such an expensive material. So do you know any seller with fair prices and great material that ships overseas please let me know I would really appreciate your advice

E bay seller Oubla has killer material, but usually only sells in larger parcels. I have bought from him in the past and can attest to both his quality and reputation. follow him on facebook under Gene McDevit for updates on when he is listing parcels. They tend to sell quickly

Oubla is still around? I went looking for him a while back and couldn't find him. I've bought MANY pounds of Koroit boulder opal from him in the past. Gonna have to check his Facebook page. Good info.

Good info. Yep, he just got back from another mining trip to Oz and has been listing some gorgeous stuff! He is on facebook under his real name of Gene McDevitt.

Sweet. He always had his Ebay listing end on Sundays. I will have to go and see if he has some up. I feel like I know gene I have corresponded with him many times including when I asked him how many people ask him to come out to the mine. His reply was that the area he is in is home to the highest population of deadly snakes and spiders as anywhere in the world, no running water, only elec is generator... ect. He says that usually deters any askers.

I have a 3 gallon bucket of material I bought from Gene several years back that I've never been able to cut. I tried cutting one or two pieces, but quickly learned that I did not have the proper knowledge to keep from destroying the material. So the bucket is sitting out in the garage. Not that I can no longer cut, I've been contemplating how to sell it. I paid $500 for the whole bucket. If you're interested, I can try and take pics, but as these are chunks and rough, not slabs, the sparkles don't really show up in a photo, and there is no telling what is actually inside any of them. I see lots of color what I get them wet and take them out in the sun, if that helps. He sent many "nuts" and etc.. I'd be happy just to get my money back if you're at all interested. I can't guarantee what you'll find at all, I can't read this material like I can other stones. Pm me if you need more info.

Now you are scaring me, never thought of that they would be difficult to cut. Unfurtunally rules and fees probits from buying for more than 200$ outside of Europe and I'm having second thoughts to buying such an expensive material with the limited skills and experience i got so far. But thanks for the offer Phil, I really appreciate.
