That was a really interesting video. I've done some woodworking, but never any metal work. Your machinery looks really expensive. Really nice job with the videography and the narration.
Is there going to be another video when you get the whole thing finished?

Nice work on the lathe. My hubby watched that video and it took him back two years ago to when he was working with metal lathes, bridgeport mills, cutoff saws, press brakes, shears and other sweet machine shop tools on the job he retired from. His job often involved making designed on the fly parts that the engineers missed during design but were needed for the machines. They called it making "adjustments"

thank you jugglerguy its a hobby that adds up rather quickly! but I like working so I spend most of my free time making or fixing things. and yes I will keep the videos coming, posting one below. ziggy those are all the fun tools! I miss working with the full size machines one day I will acquire my own. they really make quick work of things. and making adjustments is the fun part here is part 2, next will be machining flats on the drive shafts for the set screws.

This is some good stuff! Love your machines and skills. Still don't think that you can tumble rocks in your barrels if this is what the inside of them look like.

hey captbob, thanks for the kind words. the large barrels are what I have so the one on the right. I heard they might not be the best for rock tumbling, I am going to pursue them for my machining and deburring/polishing needs with stainless steel media. I might toy with making my own rock barrels down the line.

"toy" with making your own rock barrels? yeah...
I have a feeling that any rock tumbling barrels you may make in the future would have the rest of us green with envy and muttering some really bad works at the rock barrels we have! I hope you make them.
And please keep posting progress reports on your current project, this is fascinating watching you work.

The woodworking project I'm most proud of is the log bed and desk I made for my son. Nothing too precise about those.

WOWWWZERS...is all that I can say about the range of metalworking tools you have and the skill that you have to use them! Who needs to play with rocks if you are already playing with metal. You certainly are a fine craftsman and thanks for showing and sharing your skills! Now we want more!!

the video to conclude the rebuild series hope you all enjoy, if you can leave some comments in youtube rate and subscribe (all free) naturally not forcing anyone just want to point out that allot of the noise is coming from the flimsy table, the left barrel has a few dings in the portion that runs on the rollers so it needs to be fixed to stop the slight wobble/hop. I am actually happy at how quite they are, when I first picked them up it was an awful noise. it was a great rebuild, can't wait to put them to use on my parts now I will get re distracted by my other restorations
