I missed this thread earlier, nice all the faceting stuff is in one place now. You are doing fantastic work micellular. I find Feldspar (Sunstone)is a really nice stone to facet, very forgiving and Akhavans designs are beautiful. I just cut a 10 carat Topaz in his Tesselation 10 design, its a wow stone. Please post pics! We could use more active faceters here! A very beautifully cut stone. Sorry, I'm inactive for the present.

It's fantastic Michelle! I'm so intrigued and fascinating (and proud) of your progress. Faceting is just a complete mystery to me. Of course I was thinking of you the whole time I was putting this together ... and searching and searching for posts to start it off right with

Tommy anyone can facet, I teach kids as young as eight to kids as young as eighty.
Its not for everyone, anyone can facet but not everyone has the patience thats required there's no quick way of doing it but its extremely satisfying.
Micellular The Topaz is a wedding present for a friend so I will post a picture, but later.
The Topaz is a small piece off the end of a 160ct stone his fiancee found on a gemhunting expedition, he and I were working our guts out moving mountains of gravel and sand not finding much at all, his fiancee got bored and sat on a log, bent down and picked it up at her feet.
