You may remember a couple years ago a friend was moving and gave me a box of lapidary stuff. It had various polishes, buffing wheels, diamond sprays, and these mystery wooden bowls. jerrys helped me figure out that these may be something called Whitney's Cab-o-Cup or something similar. You can read the old thread here.
I'm trying to clean up and organize my work area in the basement, and I decided that I'm probably never going to do anything with these. I wish I could tell you more about them, but the guy who gave them to me didn't know anything about them.
The wooden cup on the bottom right is smaller than either metal cup.
One metal cup is threaded. It fits on my ancient flat lap that came from the same source. I assume that's where it was used. The diameter of the hole is 1/2 inch.
The other cup is not threaded for some unknown reason. There is a set screw. The diameter of the hole is 1/2 inch.
These were in a coffee can with the wooden cups. Looks like the cups might be homemade. I have no idea why they are different diameters. The diameter and depth is written on the backs of the wooden cups.
Since there was diamond spray in the box with these, I think that might have been what was used with them. I am not including the diamond spray because I don't think I'm allowed to mail liquids and I might use those some day.
If there is any interest in these, please send me a message. I would be willing to take money, a trade, or just give them to someone if I don't get a better offer. If there's no interest here, I'll try eBay. I really just want them out of the basement. I'll take messages until midnight on Saturday, January 28. These should fit in a flat rate box for shipping. If I end up giving them away, I'd like the recipient to pay shipping.
